Horace Walpole coined this word from an old Persian fairy tale
about the travels of three sagacious princes called
'The Three Princes of Serendip'.
Serendip is Persian for Sri Lanka (where, ironically or
serendipitously, my interest in mythology/religion has
currently taken me)...
In a letter he wrote to his friend, he
described this new
word: "You must observe that no discovery of a thing
you are looking for comes under this description".
Serendipity is an accurate word to describe
both the journey
this show depicts and the means of portraying it.
I hope you enjoy."
